MONTREAL, Canada, CLEVELAND, Ohio and MUNICH, Germany, March 24, 2004 - Polyplan Technologies, the thought leader in collaborative Manufacturing Process Management (cMPM), today announced that the company has received certification for SAP NetWeaver, the leading integration and application platform designed to drive lower total cost of ownership across heterogeneous IT landscapes.
With Polyplan's cMPM solution, SAP customers now have access to the most efficient integrated manufacturing engineering workbench for their SAP R/3® and mySAP PLM solutions. SAP customers can now ensure that they will be able to drive significant time and cost improvements during production ramp-up, and respect their program budget and quality targets, by systematically assessing and ensuring the manufacturability of their products, particularly in the early design phases.
By allowing SAP customers to have an early look at the design work, and staying in tune with engineering changes without the need to raise formal engineering change requests (ECRs) and engineering change orders (ECOs), they will start planning their manufacturing processes earlier, including the creation and maintenance of rich 3D work instructions, service instructions, retrofit instructions, all the while reducing by 50-75% the errors between manufacturing and engineering.
Being able to evaluate and manage the impact of product changes on manufacturing processes, time and costs before and after baseline certification/system delivery is crucial for manufacturers in all industrial sectors, and especially in the aerospace and defense industries.
"We offer the best-of-breed MPM solution for SAP NetWeaver users," said Robert Beauchemin, President and CEO, Polyplan Technologies Inc. "The SAP Netweaver platform will make it easy for SAP customers to seamlessly integrate Polyplan's MPM solution to their mySAP ERP and mySAP PLM solutions. Polyplan's solution has been built from the ground up for manufacturing engineers to significantly improve manufacturing process design efficiency."
Polyplan has been a member of the SAP Software Partner Program since 2001, when its Polyplan solution was interface-certified for SAP R/3.
